Introduction:
Lorenger Aerospace started back in 2000 with the inception of our first High-speed fighter / attack aircraft...Enter: L.A.R.C. F/A-382-XP
An early photo circa 2000...

This was the real prototype built back in the autumn of 2000 as a test project for our team to practice their CAD skill whilst being all caught up with design.
When we had become busy again we had to shift our time on this project to the late evenings and even into the wee hours of the night.
As it is currently top secret, we cannot discuss the state of construction at this time. The powerplant which is even more secret, shall never be discussed, for it is only an experiment at this time. Let's just say it is a "non-conventional" non-combustion engine with little to zero moving parts.

This concept was just an eyeball shot in the dark on how LARC had envisioned such an aeroplane, which then led to the discovery of X-plane® version 6 amid other CFD programs and computational systems to test such a design. We just had to know if this prototype would really fly. To see her fly at least once was our goal.
So after a year of learning how X-plane® worked I had begun the painful progress of designing the XF/A-382 in the simulator, and after a few hundred hours of modeling and testing, she was almost as accurate as the real CAD model and she flew. After finessing this beast with little skill we had at the time we put her in the dust bin and started a vast array of test bed vehicle platforms, which subsequently, had led into our education in elementary aerospace and aerodynamics proper.

Moreover, this project has been secretly teaching us various elements in aerodynamics unbeknownst to us at the time. After many years of research, only to start re-building her again, now in 2010, the 10 year rebirth shall continue.
